Job Description

Brook Farm’s Professional Development Coordinator is responsible for coaching and mentoring our diverse team. At Brook Farm, we’re interested in nurturing the “whole individual,” one of the principal concepts of holistic medicine. The Coordinator works with every staff member on a one-on-one level to ensure that both their personal and professional goals are being met. One day you might find yourself leading a discussion on mindfulness and teaching your colleagues the fundamentals of meditation as a means of stress management; on another you may be conducting coaching sessions that help staff identify opportunities for future growth, or analyzing safety protocols to ensure compliance.

The Coordinator spends the majority of their time educating and training staff, writing practice protocols and preparing for annual accreditation, and identifying room for growth as an individual, team, company, and community. They are constantly looking to learn more about not only veterinary medicine but about life itself: an inborn love for learning and a passion for all things eclectic and esoteric is essential. They are obsessed with getting the details right - even if that means doing the (sometimes dirty) job yourself - and using the time they spend on the floor to influence future coaching and assessment.

The Professional Development Coordinator is...

  • Resourceful: you get the job done.
  • Detail-Oriented: you ask questions and aim to do things correctly.
  • Family-Oriented: you’re patient and love people of all shapes and sizes.
  • Positive: you maintain an even temper in a high-intensity, stressful environment.
  • Driven: you can cope with repetitive or continuous processes and inquiries.
  • Funny: you have a good sense of humor.
  • Passionate: you believe in the Brook Farm way of doing things.

We take talent acquisition seriously at Brook Farm and hire thoughtfully. We work with Wonderlic Consulting to verify the information listed on your resume and check references. Please be sure to read our statements on being a drug and smoke free workplace and an equal opportunity employer.

  • Competitive salaries and schedules: we pay a living wage.
  • Paid time off and holidays (for eligible employees).
  • Health insurance: subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees.
  • Pet care: discounted care and insurance.
  • Professional development: we completely coordinate your continuing education and subsidize courses where we can.
  • Volunteer benefits: credits to apply toward your hospital account or donated to the charity of your choice.
  • Practice-sponsored outings and events.
  • Uniform allowance or discount.

Be real and don’t spare on the details. We love to read cover letters, so we send our many thanks for taking the time to write something meaningful.
