The Brook Farm Veterinary Center Veterinary Technician Internship Program provides undergraduate students and beginning professionals with practical experience in various aspects of veterinary medicine. In addition to the hands-on application of learned knowledge, each intern participates in professional development activities designed to increase understanding of their duties in relation to the practice’s general function.
The participant should have a working knowledge of veterinary medicine, including the role of the technician and their general responsibilities. The participant should be equipped to communicate professionally with our clientele and understand the general nature of the people we serve. It is essential that the participant understand that they are responsible for both client communication and patient care. If / when accepted into the program, the intern should be self-motivated and able to manage their time effectively, able to work well alone and with others, able to convey information and concepts clearly and frequently, and willing to learn new techniques.
